ACE - IICHE
Association of Chemical Engineers (ACE) is a student forum where all our budding
chemical engineers of SSN share and gain knowledge, organize symposiums and events to spread the knowledge
inside and outside SSN.
Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) is a confluence of streams of
professionals from academia, research institutes, and industry. It provides them the appropriate forum for
joint endeavors, hand in hand, to work for human well-being through the application of chemical engineering
and allied sciences. Today, with around 15,000 members on its roll, the Institute has emerged as the apex
professional body of chemical engineering professionals in India and has developed a distinct profile of its
own which is everchanging.
IIChE- SSN Student chapter was initiated in the year2007 by Dr. PVR Iyer,
registrar IIChE, Dean, PG Studies, Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, and Mr. S. Ashok Kumar Rajh,
Manager, Technical cell, Alexandria Carbon Black Limited, Egypt delivered the inaugural address. The chapter
has been very active since then, having to organize guest lectures, workshops, industrial visits for the
benefit of the students. Sustainable Trends in Energy and Environmental Resources (STEER) is its first-ever
national level conference in this field.
Student members pursuing undergraduate degrees in Chemical
Engineering from Student Chapters, under the auspices of the respective Regional Centers. The Student
Chapters also arrange lectures ,seminars, short courses, plant visits, etc., at regular intervals to better
equip and empower the students when they come out of their academic precincts. Academic activities apart,
Student Chapters organize cultural events and sport sactivities for their members.
Association of Chemical Engineers(ACE) and Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE)
has been merged from the year 2020, playing a proactive role to keep up with the dynamic needs of the
economy and society.
ACE-IIChE is immensely beneficial, opening up doors of new and existing
possibilities.
